New Hearing Partnership Supports Legacy Widows and Children

24/10/2017 - Audiologists, Ethics

We are really proud to announce a partnership with Legacy Townsville to help increase hearing health awareness within the Legacy family community.

The Legacy relationship is very close to my heart. My grandfather was head of Legacy in Charleville, and as a kid I used to go with him visiting the WWII war widows and helping them out with mowing lawns and doing odd jobs that needed heavy lifting etc. I would accompany him to the pubs where he would pass the money-box around and run the chook raffles. In my community I saw first hand the fantastic job this organisation did to support the families of those that gave their lives. I’m very proud in some small way to be continuing this tradition.

Legacy CEO, Mrs Nicole Hayes, said: ‘Legacy as an organisation is always looking to provide our widows and children with more information and services. We are delighted to partner with Clarity to provide audiology information and support to them.

This partnership will see us present information and education seminars to Legatees and Legacy members as well as provide complimentary audiology services for any Legacy members, widows or children not covered by Government funding.

There’s a lot of misinformation and downright bad advice out there and we have always pushed for transparency and ethics in the hearing industry. To have this opportunity to work with Legacy on correcting some of that information, and to help a group of people who given so much is something we are really proud of.

The partnership between Legacy and Clarity is the first of a series of partnerships Legacy is looking at forging within Townsville to provide access, essential information and advice to their membership.

‘Legacy Townsville assists over 730 individuals across North Queensland, aged from two to one hundred years old. By partnering with fantastic local businesses and organisations we can provide new service offerings and greater assistance to our Legacy family,’ Mrs Hayes said.

‘To be able to find a local business like Clarity Hearing Solutions that has clinics and services available in our entire footprint, from Townsville to Mount Isa, is just fantastic,’ she said.

As Clarity we are really proud to be the first.
